Volunteers – Breakout Programme

Our Breakout programmes run across Bucks, Milton Keynes, Beds and Northampton! This 12-week programme is a hard-hitting intervention aimed at equipping young people with the tools to make more positive life choices. Young people follow a timetable of mentoring, classroom-based sessions and outdoor adventure activities. 

Your role will include driving our minibus and work alongside Action4Youth staff to guide young people through the programme.

What you need;

  • D1 minibus license
  • Previous experience of working with young people
  • Enhanced DBS with barred list check (provided by us)

Volunteer Photographer

Calling all budding photographers. Passionate about working with us and want to make a difference to young people’s lives? Ready to capture the magical moments we get to experience with our young people?

We are on the look out for special volunteer photographers (or those who are great with a camera or working towards becoming full-fledged!) This opportunity would suit a local person to Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes or surrounding areas. Must be willing to travel to our Caldecotte Outdoor Centre in Milton Keynes or The Junction youth club in High Wycombe.

As part of our volunteer team you need to be willing to be called upon to support at an event or an activity day. This could be weekdays, evening and/or weekends so lots of hour options to suit you.

DBS checks will need to be completed.

Programmes Co-ordinator

Action4Youth delivers various youth programmes including; the National Citizen Service (NCS), The Inspiration Programme (TIP), The Breakout Programme, The Junction and an established mentoring programme.

Action4Youth takes the strategic lead for the voluntary organisations supporting children and young people aged 5 – 25 years across its area. It has around 75 organisations in membership and offers a range of essential support and services.

Our outdoor education centre, Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes, creates opportunities for young people to have amazing, challenging, fun and sometimes transformational experiences. They learn what they can do rather than what they can’t, building their confidence and self-belief.

In this role you’ll deliver Action4Youth programmes: this includes NCS (National Citizen Service) and Breakout predominantly but can include work across other programme delivery.

Marketing Executive

Do you have a passion for marketing and want to make a real difference for young people?

We have an exciting opportunity to join our team. We’re looking for an experienced Marketing Executive to take the reins of our marketing activity across multiple platforms including web, social media, graphic design and e-comms.

This role will suit a pro-active and self-motivated person who has a proven track record of managing and developing marketing campaigns and implementing targeted and segmented communication for multiple touch points.  You will be creative, driven and passionate about developing engaging marketing propositions that work across multi channels, organising events, and analysing trends to feed into future marketing.

This is a diverse and hands-on role, working as part of a small marketing team.  You will work alongside the Marketing & Communications Manager and play an important part in creating and executing new strategies to help Action4 Youth promote its inspiring youth programmes. You’ll see how our work makes a difference to young people’s lives and help give them a voice.

NCS Seasonal Vacancies Summer 2024

At Action4Youth our aim is to provide fun, often transformational experiences for all young people, whatever their background, ability or disability that not only challenge them but help and encourage them to grow as individuals, build personal confidence and set them new horizons from the perspective of what they can do rather than what they can’t.

Action4Youth has delivered the government’s flagship National Citizen Service (NCS) programme since 2011. NCS provides young people with the opportunity to challenge themselves, overcome some of their fears and develop their teamwork, leadership and communication skills.

Action4Youth delivers NCS across Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Norwich.

Weekend Youth Worker

The Youth Worker will assist The Junction core team to run activities for young people aged 12 – 18 years (up to 25 years with SEND). The Junction is open 7 days per week.

Seasonal Outdoor Instructors

Want to get into outdoor education? Aged 17 or over?

Our inclusive outdoor education centre has largest range of land and water activities in the region and pride ourselves on our ability to deliver bespoke programmes with a focus on inclusion.

You’ll be a valued member of our team, helping with the daily running of a business activity centre. You will be teaching a range of exhilarating activities including zorbing, archery and orienteering to a diverse audience of schools and groups. You’ll be responsible for delivering these activity sessions safely whilst ensuring the activities are fun and educational.

Applicants must be aged 17 or over. No previous experience is necessary as full training will be given.

Salary: £11 per hour

NCS Team Leader – Skills Booster

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role

NCS Skills Booster Team Leaders will lead and deliver sessions to young people aged 16/17 years from Stowe School on Monday 27th– Thursday 30th June from 8am- 4pm. The Team Leader will need to attend Action4Youth training to deliver sessions on the following topics; Skills for Independent Living, Careers and Progression Guidance, Employability, Volunteering and Social Action.

Hours are 8am- 4pm Monday- Thursday, so a total of 35 hours including a three-hour training session.

The salary for the role is £346 total, including holiday pay.

Expressions of Interest invited for Catering Contract in Milton Keynes

Caldecotte Xperience is looking for a catering partner to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for its attendees for the initial period of 1 March 2022 to 31 October 2022 (with an option to extend thereafter). Catering requirements vary from the quieter period in early Spring to our busy season in the Summer, with maximum attendees on site of up to 200 per day.

Seasonal HAF (Holiday Activities and Food programme) Activities Worker Vacancies

We are currently recruiting HAF (Holiday Activities and Food programme) Activities Workers for Aylesbury, Buckingham and High Wycombe. 

The HAF Activities Worker will assist the Action4Youth core staff team to run activities for young people aged 11 – 16 years.  There will be a mixture of young people from different backgrounds, some of whom may have disabilities or additional needs. The Activities Worker will help register and supervise the young people and assist with the safe running of sessions. These activities are free for families with children in receipt of free school meals and include a hot meal for all young people each day.

NCS Autumn 2021 Team Leader

NCS Team Leaders will lead and support a cohort of 12 – 16 young people on the Action4Youth National Citizen Service (NCS) programme over a period of two consecutive weeks. These groups will include a mixture of young people from different backgrounds, some of whom may have disabilities or behavioural difficulties. The Team Leader may also need to provide one to one support for young people with special educational needs. You will supervise the same group throughout the programme.

You are also required to attend the staff training event (date TBC).

During the programme you are responsible to the NCS Wave Leader and NCS Project Leader.

Dates & Hours: Monday 29th November- Friday 10th December 8:30am- 3:30pm (Monday- Friday only)

Pay: £847 including holiday for the set period

The HAF Activities Worker will assist the Action4Youth core staff team to run activities for young people aged 11 – 18 years from Tuesday 3rd August until Saturday 28th August 2021. The programme follows the 4x4x4 model (4 hours of activity, 4 days a week for 4 weeks) and working hours will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 4.00pm – 9.00pm and Saturdays 10.00am – 3.00pm, to include set up and pack up. Staff will follow a structured timetable of pre-planned sessions.

Hours4pm- 9pm Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday 9:30am- 2:30pm Saturdays

Salary: £1179 total including holiday pay for the full four weeks (88 hours total)

Main Purpose and Scope of the Role: To support Development Team members in researching and approaching prospects, with the aim of securing funds, increasing use of Action4Youth services and engaging companies and organisations in our work.

We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated Team and Assistant Team Leaders for our NCS Summer 2020 waves! If you are energetic and passionate about helping to encourage and develop young people, these roles are for you!

We are delivering eight three-week programmes across Buckinghamshire, dates delow:
