SPEAKING OUT
Representing Young People
Representing Young People and the Youth Voluntary Sector
As the leading youth organisation for Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes, Action4Youth represents young people and the voluntary youth sector in a number of fora. Our aim is to set the agenda for our sector, raise the issues that really matter in the short and longer terms and to ensure that the youth voice is heard loud and clear. We sit on the following boards and committees amongst many more:
Buckinghamshire Strategic Partners Board
This group brings together senior leaders from Bucks Council, the police, fire and rescue service, NHS, higher education, business, housing and the voluntary sector to share a collaborative approach to the issues and opportunities facing our communities.
Bucks Youth Offenders Board
A group with representatives of the Youth Offending Service, police, local authority including social work and Action4Youth representing the VCS.
Bucks VCS Recovery Board (A4Y is Vice chair)
This group, made up of representatives from key charities, is one of 4 recovery boards convened by Bucks Council to address the emerging needs created by the Covid-19 pandemic and beyond.
Bucks VCS Strategic Group
A4Y is one of five charities on this group which meets with Bucks Council’s CEO and other senior leaders to consider collaboration between the council and the VCS.
Bucks Children’s Partnership Board
A4Y represents the voluntary youth sector on this group which includes the senior team from Bucks Council’s Children’s Services, representatives from the health services, police and education.
Bucks Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Group
