Wow, Wow and just wow!!!!

Tracy’s Blog

I love my job as I have the opportunity of working with amazing and unique young people who don’t yet realise the skills they have. Occasionally I bump into some of them and hear about how some of them are doing, but rarely do I get to actually see them in action.

One young person invited me along to see them perform in We will Rock you at the Centenary Theatre. It was a pleasure and an emotional experience seeing a whole group of young people in an amazing performance. It was particularly emotional to see as I had the pleasure and surprise to see not only one of the Alumni of the Action4Youth Inspiration programmes but three! One was the assistant stage manager and clearly loving the role and was pleased to greet me for the performance, two played main characters in the show. Wow, their performances were outstanding! They all had made a lasting impact on me from the programme. They had given exceptional feedback regarding the huge impact that they felt the programme had made for them. One of the parents had also felt the programme had given their daughter more confidence to try new things.

We rarely get the opportunity to gain parental feedback as we work within the schools for The Inspiration Programme. The young person who made the invite, felt that the programme had given her the confidence to audition for the part which prior to the programme would not have felt confident enough to do. There they both were acting and singing sometimes solo, with major parts in a show at the theatre, just wow!!

Thank you so much Edie for the invitation, congratulations on the outstanding performances of all the young people involved especially from Edie and Lucy and to Henry the assistant stage manager.

I felt so privileged to be there, to see the growth of each of those individuals was a real joy and a bit of a tearjerker! Keep going! You are all stars.

Well done to the Tring Youth Theatre Project and all the awesome young people who all made the We will Rock you show so amazing to watch.
