Tracy and Ray offer their first hand experience of The Inspiration Programme and how it can realign thinking, open up opportunities for new career choices, and even university degree options.
The Inspiration Programme broadens the horizons, thinking and experience of young people.
Tracy: “The students have looked at mental health agencies, external support networks and what sort of jobs they have got going, and are now looking at doing a degree at university in psychology which would not have happened if they hadn’t joined The Inspiration Programme.”
Ray: “Understanding more about how to deal with people like me, for special education for people who can’t necessarily be in a normal school environment. I think it has really opened my eyes up to new possibilities for my career. I would recommend it to anyone.”
Tracy: “It gives them an opportunity as well to look at different careers, maybe the police force, charity work. It would help boost the CV, and feedback has been fantastic.”
What is The Inspiration Programme?
The Inspiration Programme is an Action4Youth initiative delivered in schools and colleges across Buckinghamshire with students in year groups, from year 10 to year 13.
It fills gaps in existing provision by creating opportunities for young people, providing unique and unprecedented access to Business, Police and Criminal Justice, Health & Wellbeing, Arts & Culture, and Community & Environment
The programme supports young people to have greater belief in their own abilities by becoming more skilled problem-solvers, better team-workers and stronger communicators.
