A Focus on The Caldecotte Xperience
This month’s newsletter is a spotlight on The Caldecotte Xperience, our specialist outdoor education centre based in Milton Keynes.
Action4Youth is a leading charity providing positive, often transformational experiences and activities which inspire children and young people. Our aim is to enable young people of all abilities to learn to challenge themselves and work with others – learning what they can achieve rather than what they can’t.
Our facilities are regarded as some of the best in the region combining after school activities and outdoor activities for children.
Keep an eye out for special offers we will be running at The Caldecotte Xperience this winter!
Don’t forget we also run holiday adventure clubs during the school holidays, we do advise to book early to avoid disappointment!
We offer the largest range of accessible land and water-based outdoor education activities in the region for young people with disabilities – including those with the most complex needs. Our instructors and staff all have additional needs specialist training and are experienced in delivering sessions with varying support requirements so all activities can be enjoyed by everyone whatever their ability.
The freedom and exhilaration for a wheelchair user to be able to abseil is a triumph in itself, but we’ve also found that activities at the centre lead to a long-term positive change in their self belief and future aspirations.
Special equipment for special users at TCX includes:
- A fully-accessible Wheelyboat (for wheelchair users and those with high dependency needs)
- Accessible sailboats so everyone can easily and safely participate in all water activities
- Harnesses for adventure sports such as wheelchair abseiling
Join us for a Unique Team Building Event for an Xtremely Good Cause!
Designed to build teamwork, the course provides exhilarating challenges from climbing, abseiling, caving, striking arrows, canoeing, running, and wading. There’s no event like it.
By taking part, teams will be helping create life-enhancing experiences for all young people, especially for those with disabilities and complex needs.
Enter in teams of 4-6. £1300 corporate donation or £300 corporate donation at registration, plus £200 fundraising per team member.
New – Renovations and New Accommodation!
Exciting news for 2025 is our NEW renovated main building, boasting indoor classroom space and the multi purpose hall for breakfast and evening meals – a much needed indoor space for all evening activities, ideal for when the weather spoils the fun.
This new facility makes The Caldecotte Xperience your best choice for a school residential from April – November.
We can offer a full range of indoor and outdoor evening activities, including a disco, movie night, art night and team games – that will be delivered by The Caldecotte Xperience’s committed and fully qualified team, ensuring teachers get a well earned break.

And NEW for 2024 – The Onion, our luxury camping experience providing extra accommodation for larger groups staying in the yurts. The Onion has carpets, heating and lighting and 8 comfortable beds.
