The Big Challenge 2025

And the winner is… Aylesbury UTC! A very close competition, between 13 schools, held at Stoke Mandeville Stadium saw young people from across Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes showcasing the skills of teamwork, communication, leadership and much more. The room echoed with triumphant cheers alongside some brief sighs of defeat as the buzzer sounded for each round.

For the second year running Buckinghamshire Council claimed the Winning Council accolade.

Congratulations to Edie from The Cottesloe School for winning the Outstanding Leadership Award and to Saatchi from The Chalfonts Community College who was awarded the Exceptional Leadership Award.

With thanks to our sponsors:

The Caldecotte Xperience

The revovations to the building at The Caldecotte Xperience are almost complete after many months work. The large new multi purpose room now has its windows and doors in place and will be a stunning dining room, activity, learning and entertainment space. Evening sessions like movie nights, games evenings and even a disco will be a perfect end to a day spent outdoors learning and enjoying watersports and the huge range of land based activities.

We will be welcoming school groups, clubs and individual children and young people to our new reception area from early April.

We are extremely grateful to Ringway, our project sponsor, for helping us to secure a grant from Vinci Foundation to purchase new canoes. They will ensure more young people have an incredible time, not only on the water at The Caldecotte Xperience, but also on our fantastic The Duke of Edinburgh expeditions.

Thank you to Suzanne Moss, Business Manager at Ringway, for visiting to present the cheque alongside the canoes to Rich and Anna.

The Junction

Our inaugural Youth Club session, in partnership with Wycombe Wanderers Foundation was hosted this month. This was held before the home game, the sessions consisted of teamwork, leadership, communication skills in the form of the Spaghetti Tower Building – the wining team had a tower height of 120cm! The youth club will run by our brilliant Centre Manager, Paul, before every home game has the aim of connecting the young people of Wycombe with their local community and linking to the great sessions held at The Junction, 7 days a week.

We are delighted we’ve been accepted to undertake Holiday Food and Activities (HAF) for the Easter Break. After many successful HAF programmes over the years, we look forward to supporting young people with enriching activities alongside a hot meal.

Booking available soon.
