BUILDING NEWS FROM THE CALDECOTTE EXPERIENCE

We are delighted to have received an award of £300,000 from the Community Ownership Fund to support our redevelopment.

In the last few weeks the large, bright space has been revealed and in the coming months will be fitted out to provide a fantastic space for wet weather and fun evening activities for visitors.

We’re on track for opening in April. Until then, it’s business as usual on site providing exceptional experiences.

PROGRAMME ROUNDUP

Breakout Programme: After a mental health awareness session, a young person said to the facilitator “Thank you Miss. It must have been hard for you to stand up there and say those things about what you have been through. It means more than you know.” These shared experiences help young people with support to know their feelings are valid and to provide strategies.

The Inspiration Programme (TIP): Programmes are a the half way mark. A large number of students were unaware of how jury service works and how they could be selected in the future was a key learning from the Police and Criminal Justice Pillar across the schools.

Grow Your Ambition (GYA): We have had insightful Employability sessions with Work Tree where the young people have been able to ask questions to experts in the industry about what day to day life is like and what paths they took to be in the position they are now in. This has helped them to reflect on the varying paths that careers can take.
