How We’re Making a Difference

The Breakout Programme

Students from CE Academy recently took part in an action-packed day at The Caldecotte Xperience as part of their Breakout Programme journey. From paddling adventures to life-saving First Aid training, each activity is designed to boost confidence, teamwork, and essential life skills. The Breakout Programme is a transformative 12-week intervention supporting vulnerable young people who may be at risk of crime. By combining mentoring, classroom sessions, and outdoor education, it helps create positive, lasting change.

New Partnership to Reduce Knife Crime in High Wycombe

We’re excited to partner with HWBIDCo to tackle youth crime and support vulnerable young people in High Wycombe.

With funding from the High Wycombe Community Board, Contactless Giving Boxes have been installed across the town, with proceeds directly supporting our Breakout Programme – a 12-week initiative empowering young people to avoid knife crime and gang involvement.

In collaboration with Thames Valley Police, this partnership also strengthens our ongoing work at The Junction, providing mentorship and vital skills for young people.

The Mentoring Programme

Supported entirely by charitable funding, our Mentoring Programme provides a lifeline for young people aged 11-17.

This free resource helps to build confidence, improve communication skills, and navigate the challenges they face – like bullying, mental health struggles, and conflict.

This month, Ash, a Year 9 student from Aylesbury Vale, worked with our mentor Holly to build self-esteem, express herself confidently, and develop skills to handle conflict calmly.

Look below to see a poem Ash wrote about her thoughts on bullying:

Redway Runners Go The Extra Mile

This month, the incredible Redway Runners took on 5 and 10 mile challenges in support of Action4Youth, braving the tough November weather to make a difference.

As their Charity of the Year, Redway Runners are raising funds at all their events to help us empower young people and create lasting change.

Thank you, Redway Runners, for your dedication and unstoppable spirit. Together, we’re building brighter futures!

The Junction

The Junction continues to make an incredible impact, providing young people with a safe, vibrant space to learn, connect, and grow. Here’s how:

  • We welcome an average of 45-50 daily visitors, with weekends seeing 75-80 young people
  • Regular workshops like Music, Boxing and Cooking help young people discover talents and develop new skills.
  • Over the past 2.5 years, many young people have used The Junction as a stepping stone to employment, apprenticeships, and personal growth.

Giving Tuesday

Giving Tuesday is a global day of generosity where we come together to make a meaningful impact in our communities. Taking part on Tuesday 3rd December is a chance to give back, spread kindness, and support causes that transform lives.

Every donation, every moment of your time, helps us empower young people, keep them safe, and give them the opportunities they deserve. Together, we can create a ripple effect of positive change that lasts far beyond today.
