Action4Youth News January 2023

This month the teams have been exceptionally busy and the theme of ‘employability’ shines. Over 200 pupils from 10 schools are participating in The Inspiration Programme, broadening horizons for those in years 8 – 13, challenging thinking and showcasing different careers. The Junction’s safe space particularly over the holidays has been bustling, welcoming over 800 young people helping build self-confidence and supporting personal development. We continue with vital mentoring and coaching work where topics of money and work have been a regular feature.

Winter doesn’t stop learning at The Caldecotte Xperience. Over 400 young people have come through the doors this month learning through outdoor education, valuable transferable skills and attitudes. With new dates released for DofE expeditions and adventure clubs there’s no doubt these experiences will be captured on CVs, personal statements and talked about in interviews.

There is a growing demand for The Breakout Programme. 11 schools have started their unique package of mentoring, classroom sessions and outdoor education especially designed to reduce gang and knife crime. Intervention can never come early enough and many of the participants have already been commenting on the impact of choices on future work, health and relationships.

Meet Our First Youth Ambassador for 2023!

esme ambassador for action4youth
‘ This is a cool opportunity to get involved and tell everyone about the great things available to them that they might not know about ‘

Reflecting on her experiences, Esme has been busy telling us about her time learning news skills, meeting new friends and creating memories that will last a lifetime.

We are delighted that Esme is our first youth ambassador for 2023 and we know she can’t wait to spread the word of how valuable her time with Action4Youth has been. Over the next few months Esme will be writing blogs, talking to other young people about her experiences and how she’ll be utilising all those new skills within her cv and early career aspirations. We know you’ll be looking forward to hearing more.
