SUPPORT ACTION4YOUTH - HELP ADITYA

Help someone like Aditya see a world outside her front door

Help young people like Aditya

Young people trapped in confined living spaces supporting parents with childcare duties for 6 siblings, isn’t the springboard for a brighter future.

Aditya is 17 with no hobbies and limited aspirations. She lives at home with both of her parents and her 6 other siblings. It’s a very loving family but her dad works long hours as a taxi driver and her mum struggles to look after all the children, so Aditya spends a lot of time helping with childcare duties.

Childcare responsibilities have impacted on her own development. She doesn’t have the time to go out very much and has become a very quiet and introvert person. Like many young people her age, she struggles with self-motivation, but this has severely impacted her ability to see a wider world, and beyond the confines of the family home.

Her mum has never worked, and married her dad at a very young age with the intention of growing a large family. Both Aditya’s parents believe that she should follow her mother and focus on supporting her immediate family and eventually a family of her own. For Aditya, her life appears to be mapped out for her, and she can’t see the world of opportunity outside her front door. She has no aspirations to work, and believes there is no point her researching possible career options because she wont be needing one.

But it doesn’t have to be this way.

Action4Youth can help and encourage young people like Aditya to broaden their horizons and thinking. The one-year Inspiration Programme provides direct experiences and real interactions with motivational individuals and organisations. It can help them to look into what interests them, and open up career opportunities. For Aditya, The Inspiration Programme has transformed her life. She is now open to having a career herself and hopes she can work in childcare.
