Buckinghamshire based charity, Action4Youth, has been delivering the National Citizen Service (NCS) for many years, and was recently commended for their achievements and the quality of their delivery of the programme to young people.
The programme, which gives 16 and 17 year olds the opportunity to take part in a three week challenge that will develop their skills and confidence, encouraging them to make new friends and get involved in supporting their local community, has continued to grow in popularity and participation each year.
More schools than ever before have shown an interest in encouraging their students to take part in the Action4Youth NCS experience, with 567 on the programme during 2018, and more than 735 expected to complete the programme in 2019.
Working closely with its outdoor education centre, the Caldecotte Xperience in Milton Keynes, Action4Youth’s NCS programme encourages young people to improve their community, learn new skills, work with others and take on new and exciting challenges.
Jenifer Cameron, CEO of Action4Youth explains: “We are pleased to have been recognised as the leading provider for NCS in the local area, it is credit to the fantastic work that our team does every year, in making the programme an exhilarating and rewarding experience for all young people to enjoy.
“Programme graduates are formally awarded with their certificates at our annual graduation and awards ceremony every September, in front of a packed audience of family and friends at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre.”
